Welcome! This is a record all of all 18" American Girl dolls that have their associated books. I’ve listed the years the doll was originally released, the target year of the stories, and provided pictures of the characters and dolls. I provide links to the American Girl Fandom website, which has even more information about the dolls, characters, and books.

I’ve also included a personal rating for each of the dolls. These ratings are based primarily on the book characters, and may take the following into account: racial, ethnic, geographical, and hobby-based diversity, how the characters respond to stressful situations, and character growth. I may give out bonus points for having a cute meet outfit, a full collection, or historical accuracy. For each rating, I’ll give a brief summary of why I gave it that rating. All of the ratings I provide are subjective, and based on my personal opinion of the books, collection, and character.

If I’ve personally read the book or story, then there’s also a link to a full chapter-by-chapter summary, so any reader can easily get an idea of what happens in the book. However, I recommend reading the books—they’re entertaining and fun.
