These short books were educational, well-written, and had incredible pictures. They were genuinely a joy to read, and they were short enough to easily read in one night (as an adult). It’s possible that children could even use these books to improve their own reading skills. They were easy to find at a local public library, and they were perfect for some educational weekend reading.

A Girl Named was a series of biographical books published in 2018 by Scholastic. They focus on the general life of the subject, including how the girls grew up and what they are most known for. Each book is about fifty pages long with simple text divided into very short chapters, with lots of pictures.
