Overall Rating
10/10

Every time I read Spring Pearl’s book, I am surprised at how much more I take in. The descriptions of the village, the story, Doggy and Spring Pearl’s relationship, and even the history of the war. I am constantly amazed. The writing is beautiful, and is easy to parse and read, while also being descriptive and informative. The doll is beautiful, too. The pink sink, while perhaps having an unrealistic color, looks beautiful against the tan skin and dark hair.
