Isabel’s story and doll earn a solid score from me. Her character starts out immature and bothersome, but I love watching her grow as the story goes on. She has lots of varied interests as well, which I think is important to show from both a historical perspective, and a realistic perspective. This story is the first that I’d really heard of falconry! The doll is pretty, and comes with an era-realistic hoop as well (even if it’s a bit poofy for me). I love the velvet dress skirt and jacket, which feel like high quality material.
