Blaire Wilson is a creative, hardworking girl who lives on Pleasant View Farm, her family’s bed-and-breakfast in fictional Hudson Valley. She’s great at improvising solutions to the surprises that farm life throws her way, and she loves caring for the animals—Penelope the lamb, Dash the goat, and Dandelion the Silkie chicken—and helping her mom cook for the guests. Blaire sometimes gets a little too absorbed in her screens or her plans and forgets to connect with the people right in front of her. When she learns she’s lactose intolerant, she has to rethink her love of cooking, experimenting with dairy-free substitutes even as she finds the whole thing a bit embarrassing.
