Joss Kendrick

Joss Kendrick is a fearless surfer and skateboarder who was born with hearing loss. Fully deaf in one ear and wearing a hearing aid in the other, she lip-reads and signs in ASL along with her whole family, and she’s found countless clever ways to navigate a hearing world. The youngest of three in a family of surfers, Joss has been riding waves since she was six and considers herself a “speed demon” chasing aerial tricks. Over the course of her story, she takes on a surprising new challenge: competitive cheerleading. Joss is kind, determined, and hardworking, always rebounding when something sets her back.
