Kailey Hopkins is an athletic, adventurous girl who lives for the ocean. She loves body surfing, exploring the tide pools, and spending long days at the beach with her best friend, Tess. Her father paints seascapes for greeting cards and her mother is a marine microbiologist, so a love of the ocean runs in the family. When Kailey learns that a new development threatens to pave over the local tide pools and the creatures living in them, she’s determined to find her own way to save them. Curious, compassionate, and creative, she discovers a growing passion for environmental activism along the way.
