McKenna Brooks is a strong-willed, ambitious girl with her sights set on becoming an Olympic gymnast. The oldest of three, with twin little sisters who look up to her, McKenna is gifted in the gym but struggles with her schoolwork, especially reading comprehension. Learning to accept help from a tutor, and to balance her big dreams with everything else in her life, sits at the heart of her story. She has a dog named Cooper and a pet hamster named Polka Dot.
American Girl released a feature film, An American Girl: McKenna Shoots for the Stars in 2012.
