Nicki Fleming is a responsible, compassionate girl who lives on her family’s Twilight Ranch. An artist and a skier, she adores her family, her animals, and the wide-open country where she lives—far enough from the city that she and her brother are first on the school bus each morning and last off each afternoon. Nicki’s biggest struggle is learning to stand up for herself: she has a hard time saying no, even when it’s not good for her, which is how she ends up training a service-dog puppy named Sprocket and helping plan a big gala all at once. When her mother has twins, Nicki gets to name them, choosing Rebecca and Kristine after her two best friends.
