Sibyl asks Felicity where they’re going, but she doesn’t answer. I hurry to catch up as Felicity charges down Duke of Gloucester Street. I see the throngs of people at the Palace, but Felicity keeps going until she reaches a small shop with a yellow painted sign. Felicity marches right up the steps. Inside the door, I recognize the Master Griffith who used to employ Ezra. The shop is an absolute mess. The saws hanging on the walls are clean and tidy, but other tools have been heaped inside a huge trunk. Sawdust and wood shavings litter the floor. It looks like several projects were started, but never finished.

Master Griffith doesn’t look happy to see us. He knows we’re Ezra’s friends. Felicity apologizes that Ezra broke his promise to serve as apprentice. But we came with a solution. I push Sibyl closer to the counter and explain that Sibyl doesn’t wish to leave Williamsburg, and she needs a job.

Master Griffith’s eyebrows raise. They’re suggesting he take on a girl?
