Homeless
Feline Feelings
Discusses how cats show affection and trust, even though they’re sometimes seen as aloof. Topics include:
- Purring, which usually means a cat is cozy and content
- Kneading with their front paws, a habit left over from nursing as a kitten
- Greeting an owner with a meow
- Keeping their ears pointed up and forward when she’s confident, versus flattened when she’s scared
- “Chinning,” or rubbing their head against a hand or leg, to mark someone as their own
- Licking an owner’s hand as a form of grooming
- Yawning as a reassuring “hello” when someone walks into a room
- Sleeping next to someone or letting them pet them, both signs of trust
