Overall Rating
8/10

I gave this rating because Maritza stands up for people in her community that cannot stand up for themselves, and I love how she takes action to try to help others. However, I docked a point because I feel like there’s several characters who are Hispanic/Latinx, and I would’ve loved to see Maritza have a different ethnic background. In addition, I docked a point because I feel like there’s lots of characters with a love of sports, so I’d love to see Maritza with a different main hobby. But all that being said, I love how the authors integrated her story into her hobby, and used her love of soccer and her team to push her goals even further.
