World By Us
The World By Us line, released in 2021, was inspired by continued public desire for brand and character diversity. American Girl’s goal was to have a line focused on more difficult topics, such as racism, current events in 2020, social justice, and environmental activism. The characters have intertwining, unique stories, and the characters are approximately thirteen years old.
Despite rumors they were going to add more characters to this line, at this point (late 2024), my guess is that they’re going to phase it out and completely archive it soon. Maritza and Evette are no longer available for purchase, and although there are some Makena’s left (I snagged one), I think they’re only selling them until they’re gone. It’s unfortunate, since I really liked this line.
